Competitors – What’s in it for me?
The Kielder Challenge is a unique inter-company competition, set in the stunning surroundings of the Northumbrian countryside, on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th September 2012. It is designed to test intellect, problem solving, communication and team work in a stimulating and fun environment – an opportunity for you to see the potential and attributes of your colleagues, while learning about your own abilities and the chance to meet new people.
There are 8 tasks on the Saturday which are carefully designed to test intellect, problem-solving, communication & teamwork – and these challenges are physical, practical and logistical. To succeed competitors need to trust, support, cooperate and communicate with their team mates.
In the evening each team constructs a bivouac shelter (and these are scored as part of the competition) where they’ll camp overnight, before taking on the final task on Sunday. This is an enormous puzzle and, with over 80 components (and an opportunity to score bonus points), you’ll need to think quickly, make best use of your team’s skills and resources.
Then comes the really fun part! – a party back at the Comb – where all the competitors have a chance to relax, meet and enjoy a massive party! Music, prizes, great food, free drinks, good company and exhilarating experiences to share with hundreds of like-minded people – it’s a party not to be missed and hard to forget!
Ultimately the best team wins – the team with the breadth of brains, teamwork, innovation, creativity, strategy & stamina! Whether you are young or old, a fitness fanatic or exercise-shy, everyone plays a crucial role in the team’s success! Will you and your colleagues rise to the Challenge?
